I'd assume.
The lead, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, of Aquaman and Watchmen fame, is the real reason to see this film: a star is born. He imbues his character, a painter whose background reveals a sinister link to a grisly murder, with intelligence (the hardest trait to project, I'd argue--- just look at the 3 Chris's currently starring in so many films--- all hunks, all seemingly as vacant, dull and thoughtless as a mannequin), passion, and complexity.
Yeah, this is entertainment, but of a sort that asks you to think a little, too, while your munching that popcorn.
