Gloria is a small town in Southern Portugal that hosts a repeater station for a Radio Free Europe. Ho-hum. Not so. It is a hotbed of subversion and murder as the Soviet-run locals are constantly interfering with its opeations. The station's workforce of Portuguese, Brits, and Americans, operates less than smoothly because everyone is spying on the Americans more than anyone. There is some low-key anti-USA rhetoric which is fun.
The local CIA people are made to look barely competent while the Russians are total pros. BUT, they all drank and smoked on the job like it was a requirement. "Mad Men" for spies.
A lot of players in this 10 episode drama so attention is required.
