Set in Manhattan, this Allenesque comedy had some high points but mostly midpoints. Tobias Menzies and Julia Dreyfus have been "happily" married for a couple of decades. UNTIL she overhears her husband's real opinion of her first work of fiction. Cascades of passive-aggressive behaviors ensue and we watch Menzies digging the hole deeper as any hapless hubby would.
As a side, Menzies treats a few of his clients in his mental health practice which yields a few giggles. David Cross and Amber Tamblyn play the long suffering clients who can't get along to a tee.
This is not a door buster of a film but do watch for it on cable.
