Inspirational film. The script, camera work, and performances were good. Caviezel spent a great deal of time being misty-eyed while Bill Camp was knocking out the role of a lifetime. Even the child actors were terrific.
Within the first six or seven minutes I felt queasy because of what was being done to the kids (nothing graphic mind you). There was an entire cast of "characters" popping up during the film that were both interesting and entertaining.
At the end of the credits, Caviezel stated that the film had been in the can for five years before the current release. He said all kinds of things were done to prevent it from release. (Who cares if it hurts pedophiles' feelings?) The whole plot is told like a police story with heavy heartstrings attached.
Down here the theater is still filling up with Boomers. I didn't see anyone under 55 today. In the beginning, I felt like bolting during the grooming stages but I'm glad I settled down and stayed the length.
