A young German law student rents a sublet apartment from an attractive woman a bit older than himself. They meet and "hit it off" under extenuating circumstances. A slow dance of death is entailed with a manic ex-boyfriend interloping. The idea is an old one, but this script updates the details. The best part, from my point of view, was the female "protagonist" played by Katherina Heyer, who is descended from the Nina Hoss gene pool of beauty. She is demure, sexy, provocative, alluring, crazy, and dangerous. I always wonder how a director gets this out of an actor. ("Okay, Toots, I want you to be sexy, in control, dangerous, and nuts. Got it?")
The young law student is immediately smitten, but troubled by the peepholes, nosy neighbors, and the ex who lives across the street. It gets kinky in a hurry.
