'Ella McCay': A nice comedy for nice people . . .

Emma Mackey (England's Margot Robbie) plays an overly serious daughter who went to law school and became the Lieutenant Governor of her state. Crisis after crisis befalls her in the form of a randy father (Harrelson), a weirdo brother, a screwball husband, and a Governor who jumps ship and hands her the reins (Albert Brooks). The one person she can rely on is her aunt played by Jaime Lee Curtis, who is her staunchest advocate.

This is lightweight fare but nice enough for polite company who don't get out often. It does have a serious "chickly flickly" resonance with some assorted wokeness, but it all ends well.

You could probably take your mom to see this one.
