This has been billed as "the ultimate sports movie." The characters were just cardboard. The dialogue was about junior-high level. The racing scenes were nicely filmed, but it looked artificial compared to Grand Prix (1966), also not a great movie but more entertaining than this one.
When I saw Javier Bardem "acting" by smiling and doing a thumbs-up, I wqas done.
