'The Bride': Buckley up, buttercups . . .

For a real WTF! experience.

Buckley has given us a more all-in performance than the one she gave in 'Hamnet'. Amazing, but to what end? This reimagining is chaotic and rude as "the bride" seems to suffer from Tourette's as she ranges from screaming to crying to laughing. Poor Frankenstein is so confused as a battered non-husband.

All the performers were great: Bale, Bening, and Sarsgaard. They gave it their best as if they were participating in the birth of a new school of cinema.

Within the first half hour, I teetered on walking out except for the ticket prices. I stuck it out to be part of the art.

I don't think this is for everyone. The safest bet would be cable.
