There's three versions of the The Thing: the 1951 version with James Arness, the 1982 John Carpenter film, and the more recent remake. I assume you're talking about the more recent remake that was the one ruined by CGI. The only saving grace of that movie is Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The third season of Fargo made me fall for her.
