Rented this French film recently and can recommend it to you. Very nicely done, laid-back suspense movie with Alain Delon giving the best performance I've seen him give as the cool and calm sociopath. Unusual for a French film in that something actually happens. ;-P I wasn't really planning to go see the Matt Damon/Gwenith Paltrow remake, but after seeing Purple Noon I think I will.
