I accidentally stumbled over the Cruel Intentions last night and found it quite entertaining.Interiors - both movies are interesting, with the Close's one being more classic, but Sarah certainly is not far behind with her mostly replicas-equipped Manhattan digs.
Valmont? Actually both did good job, with John Malkovich obviously being of fines caliber, however Ryan Phillippe is quite convincing too, as the young actors go.
But then we come to Marquise De Merteuil and here it is all left brain vs. right one. As fine actress as Glenn is, I found it difficult to suspend my disbeliefs. Her dresses were more elaborate, but the young Manhattanite certainly held her own in that department too (Neiman Markus being nearby). However, when it comes to just raw sex appeal... well, perhaps you could finish this sentence for me.
All in all, I think this is an interesting remake with good humor.
