In the eight month the winds are willing. (Fairbanks Jr.)

Just finished viewing "Sinbad the Sailor" on AMC. Yes, it's hokey, with some incredibly bad acting from people in the smaller roles. Well, Anthony Quinn was not too great, either. Still, I enjoyed it again for the umpteenth time. Romanticism writ large, Hollywood style.

Sinbad(Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.), the orphan, grown up and after his seven voyages, suspects he may be the prince of Dariabar. That's the island which harbors the treasure of Alexander the Great. The mysterious Jamal along with the Emir of Daibul(Anthony Quinn) and the Rose of Kurdestan(Maureen O'Hara) are going for the gold along with him. Who will survive? Will love triumph over greed?
