You are right about similarities of these two very good flicks. I wish I could remember the quote in "Lathe" about the "sons of heaven". Both George Orr and the hero in "Dark" are basically good guys. Remember when Sewell was worried about the goldfish out of water? Decent, well-meaning, and in the case of Orr somewhat laid back and seemingly ineffectual. One of them, has memory problems, the other doesn't know the answers and is willing to admit it, and seeks help. Humility in a hero, is that a common occurence?Reminds me of the Hobbits, those humble, comfort loving little creatures who ultimately save the world in Tolkien's books.
