"The Kid From Left Field": 1953 And 1979 Versions.

I've seen the 1953 version with Billy Chapin as the kid and liked it
a lot, but have not seen the 1979 TV Movie version with Gary Coleman
as the kid. Leonard Maltin's guide rated the 1953 version with 2 1/2
stars, but I'd give it 3 stars. The ending may seem a little too pat
for some, but I found the movie highly enjoyable in most respects.
Anyone seen either or both of these family films?
