The newspaper explanation: Police detonated a bulging 20 gallon tank filled with anhydrous ammonium hydroxide in the back of a car. The owner had shoplifted cartons of Sudafed and police pursued him. He is in custody charged with drug manufacture as the stolen ingredients could be used to synthesize methamphetamine.
