Maybe the goofiest movie since "Armageddon." Nothing is explained in this film and there are no pauses to reason it out. Burton is telling us to just accept it all. Bonham-Carter was a bad choice; her body language is unconvincing and likewise her makeup. Tim Roth is the real standout as Gen. Thade, a furious ball of malevolent energy. I haven't seen someone that angry since the Florida vote/recount. Or the Elian Gonzales incident. Or when Stallone moved to Miami. Lots of angry people in Florida (but not in DisneyWorld).
