I believe the output through the left and right analog outputs on your dvd player is Dolby Prologic. Using my old ass Pioneer SP somthing (91?)D sound processor I get the surround effects. Without it I still get surround effects but not as deep as with the processor. Im using Maggie MMG's and a polk sub.
