Kingsley is sure to get a nom for Best Actor. Connely, thank God, has put back some of those pounds I so missed in "A Beautiful Mind."
An interesting "thriller" w/out any thrills...
After 2/3 of a movie in which MANY illogical things occur (usually a mortal wound to a "realistic" film) the director takes the film down the predictable Hollywood path, i.e. gunplay from a totally unexpected, unbelievable source during a totally zany sequence of events.
One can tell the movie originally was to be a character study of conflicting cultures, but at some point, someone decided to "jazz" it up and bring in the "hack" re-writers.
Unfortunate that Kingsley put so much effort into it. Yet, I felt something was missing from his performance, which I can't quite pinpoint?
