Like "Waiting for Godot," the POINT is nothing happens. Not apparently, that is...subtlety reigns. A grin, a turn of the mouth. The power of ennui. Modern man and being adrift in a landscape of steel, glass, and "coolness."
But, in that emotionally dead lanscape, two people can still meet, dispense with pretense---and connect, meaningfully. And, as is made clear, sex is NOT the answer. Our modern culture is surrounded by it, yet no one seems any happier than in previously more reserved times.
