Kenneth Branagh gave a very convincing performance as a drunkard.>>A pure British ensemble drama.<<
How do you feel about the Rita Rudner character? The first time I saw this I thought she was an unnecessary diversion from the others. But seeing it a second time, I could appreciate the British view of the annoying American stereotype.
Also loved the Emma Thompson "Catwoman" character, as I have a friend who used to carry pictures of her cats in costumes in her purse.
I really enjoyed the music of this film's soundtrack, chosen by Branagh, and recommend it on CD. Nina Simone's "My Baby Just Cares For Me" has audiophile quality sound, and that wonderful strolling piano.
