101 Reykjavik

So this is Iceland?

Loved this film about an Icelandic slacker who lives with mom and has no plans for his future as long as the socialist dole keeps him in beer and hash money. His pointless, uninvolved life is interupted when Victoria Abril comes from Spain to visit mom. Things change. Flamenco lessons and partying that finally culminates in a rather enthusiastic poking scene. Fine, until mom announces her and Abril are in love and an item. Things start getting crazier for poor Hylnur.

Enjoyed the story, excellent cinematography, and the "eurotrash disco" soundtrack. The film gives a good look-see at Iceland and maybe be worth the watch.

Icelandic joke:

"Why do Marlboros have white filters in U.S. and yellow ones in Europe?"

"I dunno?"

"So Keith Richards will know what continent he's in."
