I have a hard time deciding what is the 'best' just like with music or tubes, but here goes.Drama -Dirty Pretty Things, Blue-White-Red, Queen Margot, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Grifters, Amateur [two catagories], The Secret Lives of Dentists, The Professional, Short Cuts and Chicken Run [two catagories] Siesta, Mystery Train and Mystic River.
Comedy- Annie Hall, Love and Death, Raising Arizona, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, The Life of Brian, Holy Grail, MASH, South Park, The Magic Christian, Dr. Strangelove, Being There and Dogma.
Musical- Chicago, True Stories.
Horror- Angel Heart, Alien, Lost Boys, Nosferatu, Before Dark, The Thing, The Haunting [1967] and Psycho....The Passion of...holds promise for this catagory.
Suspense- Vanished, Diva, Silence of the Lambs and Brazil. I haven't watched Memento yet...I keep forgetting.
Western- High Noon, High Plains Drifter, The Outlaw Josie Wales, Long Riders, Lonestar, Shane and Star Wars.
Action- Bullet, Conan The Barbarian, The Matrix, Crouching Tiger...., Dr No, La Femme Nakita, Boogie Nights and Alien.
Sci Fi- Barbarella, Contact, Star Wars, Alien, and Brazil. Mel's gem might work here too.
