Madadayo

The Akira Kurosawa's last film is somber and even sad... one certainly can see the autobiographical notes in it.

Some say this is not his best film, and I would tend to agree - and blame the Master himself for that - he set the plank so high with his previous works.

The film would not make a good introduction into Kurosawa's art, but for those already familiar with his works this is a must.

Sentimental at spots, and not moving at even pace, this is a film that shall continue causing arguments. One thing is for sure - those who dislike seeing men sitting around talking should stay away from it.

Thank you Steve for the recommendation!
