Just as I remembered from my early teens... great quality picture, beautiful women, marvelous uniforms, exciting horseback chases... and... the great theatrical swordplay that would get you killed in an instant in a real duel... all wrapped together in a stylish package.
Ferrer is superb in his arrogance, and Granger is passable - way too sweet to be taken seriously.
Altogether - a very well made movie, from many perspectives. A wonderful representative of its genre, to be enjoyed equally by boys of ALL ages, that still live inside of us.
So no regrets at all about this $14 purchase... I had done far worse before.
For a few minutes here and there I felt like I was 15 again...
