Hi,
based on a pair of thumbs up from Ebert and Roper I went and saw Starsky and Hutch. I thought it was pretty bad. The mime sequence looked like a home movie; although I have seen better home movies. This genre depends on a fast pace to carry you along, there were two or three places where the movie seemed to just stop. I am not sure if anyone working on the film ever bothered to actually watch an episode of the old TV show. I doubt it. The movie got a lot of little things right; but it wasn't exactly an issue since they deliberately threw in stuff from the 80's. All of which would be completely irrelevant if the show had been fun. It wasn't. If Stller does that airhead routine one more time I am going to boycott his movies for life.
