Well, a diverse crop of movie viewing this weekend."The Passion" - I can't decide if I like this film. Mel Gibson seems to have a heavy-handed directing style, and this is no exception. However, there were some moving moments, and The actress who played Mary was excellent. Not anti-Semitic in the least, from my POV. Non-Christians will probably have a harder time liking this film, as the emotional content will be less.
"The Bicycle Thief" - this film doesn't need much comment, as it's deservedly a classic. My personal feeling is an excellent portrayal of one father's deepening despair. Some will be turned off by the non-Hollywood ending.
"Dragonfly" - Not as bad as I expected, but it did have a feeling of made-for-TV in some places. Forgettable, but not a waste.
In Vino Veritas
