An obscure* Soviet film: Andrei Rublev.....

What is your underlips doing when you see the painting of Rembrandt of the " Night Watch " or Leonardo " Mona Lisa " or the" Vituvian man " or Dürer drawings...it just follows the motion of Newton´s law.
So did mine.
This film is about redemption presented as metaphors, in eights " tableau " ( scenes or paintings ).
He was in real life the most, or one of the most famous Icons painter his " Trinity " are what we all need from time to time..A breath of oxygen.
Eisenstein flash back, but it is " The last Supper " that follows you, and then you have the most beautiful pictures, haunting, apostles like.
Poetic, strong....Icarus it starts but too near to the sun... The fall is hard, lost and regain. It manage to be be even erotic.and how, not just a piece of meat, no, just a complete feast.
Intelligent, ( At the time it was a critic of the leaders, but so smartly buried that it manage as all real masterpieces to escape the prison of HIS time. Genius.
Haunting, it will follow you as Caen´s eyes in the darkest of all tombstone.
What a master, this Tarkovsky!
Long live the Russian soul.
Glad the one who have this gem. And thank you Victor for pointing it out to me. I wish all would vision it.

* One of the best ten films in his " genre " in the world I read somewhere. I definitively agree.
