Ditto your feelings on The Hit. Stamp in an offbeat role.

It may have been interesting if Hurt and Stamp switched roles, but I like it the way it is.

Some of The Hit is pretty funny, and it's never predictable. I think Clapton did the soundtrack, but I don't remember it as being paricularly great.

FWIW, I love the Brit Gangster film Stormy Monday...a bit of a hybrid, since it stars Tommy Lee Jones and Mel. Griffith, but takes place in Newcastle...neo-noir at it's best, imho.
