"Dogville:" a classic?

It is, after all, by the redoubtable Lars von Trier, the master responsible for "Breaking the Waves."
Yes, the movie is done "theatre style" with few props: chalk outlines houses, for instance.
But, after a few moments, it doesn't matter. Imagination kicks in and it seems the usual distraction of set/cinematography is re-invested into a more careful appreciation of the acting. And...it is superb.
Kidman and Skaarsgard (sic).
And the surprisingly brilliant young protagonist.
Force yourself to stay 10 minutes and you'll be hooked. Stay until the end and you'll have witnessed as powerful a film as has been released the past 20 years.
