Hellboy it is! (Have done Passion already.)What would the film world do without Ron Perlman's mandible? Who would play all the weirdos and freaks of nature? Well, when Ron signs on, he does a damn good job. He brought a humorous depth to the creature "from hell" who was turned to the good side as wee demon. (He even has a small streak of Cyrano within his beastly body.) He is our key weapon for "bumping back" in the night and is assisted by a fish-faced partner who has all the mannerisms of CP3O along with a fresh-faced FBI agent and a "fire starter" (Selma Blair). John Hurt gives an admirable performance as Hellboy's "father" and Jeffery Tambour managed to get outside of "Hank" for this film.
Hellboy, is the best comic book adaptation I've seen. The film has great PRaT and you hardly realize two hours have passed! Terrfic production values, special effects and performances--especially Perlman.
Good fun. Shades not monocles.
