That may be why you were disappointed with the film. Ripley isn't evil in any of Highsmith's Ripley books. Psychologically damaged, yes, but evil? No way. Highsmith was a modernist writer who didn't go in for that kind of simplistic moralizing, so if "Ripley's Game" was true to the novel....Jeffery
