Couldn't agree with you more Patrick. One of my favourite of all time. I read the book back at boarding school when I was 14, and it remains one of my favourite books as well. Waugh's talent for descriptive writing is superb.
Have you seen A Handful of Dust? Another Waugh book made into a movie with Alec Guinness and James Wilby.
