Saw it again on vid and it was NOT as good re-viewed. Actually dragged in several parts, for me.
Impressions: Del Toro is a great actor (bested two fine actors, toe-to-toe). His character is tortured, electric, and I expect I could meet him anyday at a convenience store.
Sean Penn does not play "wimpy" characters very well. He is not a convincing professor of mathematics. Too much "persona" baggage. He has the acting chops, I mean, but not the intellectual "gravitas."
