--Reliance on fx (shock and awe, if you will, instead of plot-character-dialogue).
--Reliance on test audience preferences (it routinely effects endings).
--Reduction of dialogue to "clever" one-liners, at the expense of reasoned, intelligent, clever/witty exposition.
--Poor distribution of indies and foreign films in medium-sized markets, while tens of screens play the same more popular films to audiences of 15, after the first week, or so (the many screens are necessary to generate the large profits before word of mouth can sink mediocre fare).
