This isn't exactly a "zinger," but it is a strange line (and my favorite)...Gaberiel Byrne to Marcia Gay Harden in Miller's Crossing:
"I was in the neighborhood and feeling a bit daffy, so I thought I'd stop in for an apertif."
Those Coen Brothers really do have a way with words.
Jack Nicholson probably has the most "zingers" of any working actor...along with those mentioned, he nails several great ones in Terms of Endearment (as only Jack can deliver them)..."I'd rather stick needles in my eyes" and "I was this close to a clean getaway" and "I'd have to give my stock answer...I love you to, Kid." (etc).
What's the rumpus?,Gary
