Interesting movie but a tad dry. One thing that set me back was an all English cast playing Frenchman in France. Certainly a quaint notion. Another point was Caine's character being so racked with guilt that he had become a over-religious, forgiveness zealot. One would think he would have blown his brains out long before. The cast was topflight yet the script just didn't support all the talent.
