"The Rainmaker"

This rather pedestrian John Grisham adaptation was directed by Francis Ford Coppolla and lacks his usual brilliant touch. Like all Grisham efforts, there are story elements preposterous in nature (Damon gets sworn into the Bar during a trial by the judge at the behest of the opposing attorney) but not as marked as the truly over the top "Runaway Jury" (which nevertheless is far more entertaining).
An unrecognizable Mickey Rourke is featured as well.
