I finally got a hold of the Criterian DVD set which has two versions of The Killers. I watched the earlier (1946 b&w) movie last weekend and thought it was terrific. A great plot and a perfect pace - a very engaging film noir. I found it be very enjoyable. So the other night, I just started watching the more recent Killers movie (1964 with lee marvin) ........ so far it kinda stinks. About 1/3 of the way through, I am beginning to adjust to the weak acting and lame plot when suddenly Felix Unger and Ronnie Reagan pop up on the screen. Yikes! I stopped the DVD and went to bed. Does this version get any better further into the film?
