I know, it hits DVD Tuesday; but there is a store about 15 miles away that gets all movies 10 days before they are released. So far, it looks like a high school play. The acting is so overdone. Both Law and Kidman are hamming it up. And why could they not find 2 Americans to play the 2 Americans?
The battle scene i the beginning did have an exciting plot twist; but I coudl not follow anyof the close up combat. The film is too dark for me to see anything (TV maybe), but all I saw were bodies thrashing around and knives and black-red blood. I like the plot, but the acting, and my hunch is the director forced them to overact, is sophmoric. She is always lifeless, anyway.
And the scene where he sees her playing paino across a field, but the piano is closely miked, is a real clunker. Better sound mixers next time.
