I know, I know: when you see see Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Affleck as the stars of a movie you think, "Oh, typical Hollywood, gunfights and car chases". But this one is a surprise: a well written, credible, redemptive tale of two men of entirely differenet backgrounds, generations, and persuasions thrown together because of an early morning Good Friday traffic accident which alters each of their days and, ultimately, their lives. Jackson is a recovering alcoholic on the way to a family court custody hearing and Affleck is a lawyer working for a high end swindling law firm on HIS way to a hearing to present evidence of no malfeasence in a multi-million dollar foundation lawsuit. After the accident, a fender bender, the entire movie takes place over the rest of the day, with many scenes involving churches (without hitting you over the head with religious
imagery) and a plausible playout of incresingly venomous one-ups-man-ship. I have seen his several times and highly recommend it.
