I have generally not found this to be true. I assume that your center channel is at the identicl level to the four (or six) others and that it is identical or similarly voiced from the same manufacturer. I wasn't sure what you meant by "bad".

I always prefer the DTS codec when it is offered as an option and find the dialog and music "sweeter".
