Being a fan of Cole Porter's work, I am intrigued. I heard the soundtrack at Borders Saturday, and while the use of contemporary rock stars is not new (Red, Hot and Blue, 1992) some of the performances seemed "lazy".Few seemed to match Annie Lennox's grief stricken wail of "Every Time We Say Goodbye" from "Red ,Hot and Blue"
Mostly seems to be an homage to the Porter's lifestyle. According to Kitty Carlisle Hart, it took a staff of ten and forty trunks to move them from New York to Paris and back. I can't see the Porter Estate giving this any approval, but evidently they did.
So, who's seen it?
