I got a lot out of it, but I'm sure it helps that I have an interest in Russian/Soviet history & culture---certainly more than the average American would. (We see WWII in a completely different light over here---this is something never taught in US schools---as a matter of fact, WWII is barely taught even from the American perspective.)
Yet, at the same time, it does not take much knowledge of culture to admire a beautiful woman ;)
