Thinking of going scuba diving in Jamaica? Or, anywhere? Then you must go see Open Water."Chris Kentis's minimum opus is ridculously cheap and thoroughly unnerving... Shot using digital video, scorning such niceties as shark cages..." -- Boston Globe
I hadn't jumped out of my seat since Aliens (I think).
You've heard of a hand-held camera, but ever hear of a wave-held camera? You're in the drink with our two protagonists who were abandoned by their boat. As they pass through the stages (Denial, Anger etc.) you are *with them*, and there is even some humor found in their plight.
The film was profoundly moving, and two days later I still feel it.
That's all I'll say. Oh, the digital was not particularly objectionable.
A must-see.
