But was surprised - quite pleasantly - to find it different in tone and treatment. At first I was getting bored because it didn't have the swashbuckling swordplay and flying darts. But later on, as the movie progressed, it was apparent the intent was not to do another "Crouching" but a story on its own, and focus, which is nationalism.
The story-telling was complex yet simple.
I think the movie achieved its goal that by not killing the emperor when he (Nameless) had a chance to do so, he evolved into "somebody" from a nameless assassin. That his love for country - when men come and go, a country lives - is the essence of existence.
"Hero" - not bad at all!
