This is an exceedingly clever and funny Woody Allen outing, replete with special effects (unusual for him), commentary by "real" people, and a movie within the movie. Allen stars as the title charcater, a figure in the 1920's who can assimilate the characteristics of just about anyone (male anyway) who he comes into contact with. He becomes a national phenomenon and big story (even musical numbers and dances are named after him) and then suffers the ups and downs of popularity. Mia Farrow also stars as his therapist and love interest. One of Woody's best.
