Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

Same here: but the '70s features on the extras disc are nice.

Posters 'n all. Really brought back memories for me, more than the 'improved versions' ever will.

Whilst Lucas may feel he can now perfect the film (like bad art> mainly by adding pointless visual distraction and fussy detail, as well as paring away opportunities for our imaginations to take root by showing/explaining too much [see extra Mos Eisly shots for early example]), it wasn't the director's cut which made such a massive impact on me and the world.

I want DVDs of the original, "warts 'n all"; I want the cheesy but visceral effects; I want the clunky Tatooine speeders that actually looked like they were part of the landscape; in short, I want the original films which were *OF THEIR TIME* to help me feel like I felt in '77, not a low-cal, healthy/improved chargrilled re-hash. Without the add-ons, I felt I shared this STAR WARS universe with Lucas. Now, I feel left out as it becomes increasingly his own with every effect he pastes on top. There is too much sugar in this DVD cake.
