Am I missing something with this one? I tried very hard to get into this flick the other night, but after 40 minutes I gave up. I honestly couldn't tell if there was a lot of subtle goings on that I could not figure out (maybe to be revealed later in the flick?) or nothing at all was going on and I was going be bored until the film ended. Plus I was really struggling to accept Kilmer in this role. I just couldn't get away from images of Val as "Iceman" in Top Gun or "Jim Morrison" in The Doors.
Anyway, Spartan is a rental DVD and I still have a few days left. Can someone who enjoyed this one convince me to watch some more of it, or should I return it early and get on to something else?
