Glosniej od bomb (Louder than Bombs) is a 2002 film by a Polish director Przemyslaw Wojcieszek, and is his only work I know.I always loved Polish cinema, but this is a completely different beast - it comes from the post-decay period and it bears strong imprints of the era... the era when no illusions survive and cynicism and nihilism are just everyday's philosophies that all normal people have to deal with.
My wife hated it, saying it had no redeaming values... I don't quite agree with her. For all its faults the film still manages to create an identifiable atmosphere and build several interesting characters along the way.
So don't go out of your way to find it, but if you see it on the shelf - and it is Friday night with special deal (seven for the price of 6 1/2) get it just to get the glimps of what the modern Eastern Europe has to offer.
And if it reminds you of the Trainspospotting... well, I didn't say that.
