I am not going to replace my CAV laserdisc with the new DVD of this tradionally animated Disney instant classic but either version should give much pleasure over many years of viewing. Robin Williams as the genie of the lamp is unbelivable hilarious from the moment he arrives and the entire picture is a success because of him and his wisecracks and impersonations (whodathunk you'd see a William F. Buckley impersonation in a cartoon film?). Enjoyable at all age levels albeit reportedly offensive to some Muslims.
